Anti-drug Poster Contest Guidelines

Please Read These Rules In Their Entirety

1.  Posters must be white POSTER BOARD (22” x 28”)Other sizes and types of paper will be disqualified.  The following drawing materials may be used:  crayons, watercolors, or markers.  THE BOLDER MATERIALS SHOW UP THE BEST.

2.  The student’s name, home address, home phone number, name of school and grade level must be clearly PRINTED ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF POSTER.

3.  The poster’s message must convey PREVENTION of drug abuse.

4.  Posters will be judged on the basis of originality and on their effectiveness in presenting positive alternatives to drugs.

5.  Teachers must submit, with the posters, a completed entry form and a TYPED LIST containing the name of the school, grade level, teacher’s name and the names of the students.

6.  ALL POSTERS WILL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE STATE’S ATTORNEY’S OFFICE.

7.  Judges will choose a first, second, third and fourth place winner for each grade level.  In the case of a tie, both posters will be recognized as winners.

THE FOLLOWING WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED:

1.  Drawings of real people, famous characters or names or logos of name brand products;

2.  More than one student working on a poster;

3.  Anything pasted, taped or stapled to the poster;  ENTRIES MUST BE DRAWN.

POSTERS MUST BE DELIVERED OR POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN 5:00 P.M., MARCH 31, 2011 TO THE STATE’S ATTORNEY’S OFFICE, 69 WEST WASHINGTON, SUITE 2040, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS 60602.  BECAUSE PARKING IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA IS EXPENSIVE, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU MAIL THE POSTERS.

FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THESE GUIDELINES MAY RESULT IN BEING DISQUALIFIED.
